Imagine spending the day touring some of Britain’s best driving roads behind
the wheel of the best classic cars of the last 40 years. That’s exactly the dream driving day on offerfrom Great Escape Cars with its Break for the Border rally, which takes place on
Saturday July 14th.
The Break for the Border rally starts near Stratford Upon Avon and covers 180 miles
of choice driving roads in Great Escape’s fleet of classic hire cars. The route through Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the Welsh Borders includes blasts on B-roads regularly
favoured by car magazine journalists. Every driver gets the chance to drive each classic car provided by Great Escape, including a DeLorean DMC-12, Jaguar V12 and 6 cylinder E Types, MGB V8, Jaguar Mk2 and Aston Martin DB6.
Places on the Break for the Borders rally are strictly limited to ensure that every
driver gets the maximum time in each car. The day generally lasts 9 hours and includes tea and coffee stops and lunch at a rural Welsh pub.
Great Escape started organising classic car rallies for corporate clients several
years ago and launched tours for private clients in 2011. The diary of events has been extended in 2012 to include the company’s sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
“The Break for the Border rally is a great way to sample a range of classic cars on
some perfect driving roads,” explains Graham Eason of Great Escape. “We work very hard to provide a great day for customers and our previous feedback has been overwhelmingly very positive.
“We hand pick the roads and cars to provide variety and something for
everyone. This isn’t a competitive rally – it’s about relaxing, enjoying the drive and some great scenery.”
The cost to attend the Break for the Border rally is £345 for 1 person or £645 for
two. Great Escape is operating an Early Bird booking discount for all Break for the Border bookings made during April and May of £295 for 1 person and £575 for 2 people. The price includes comprehensive insurance, fuel, lunch, tour notes and use of at least 5 different classic cars. The rally starts and finishes at Great Escape’s Cotswolds site near Stratford Upon Avon. Overnight accommodation can be arranged at extra cost.
Great Escape Classic Car Hire was founded in 2006 and is the UK’s largest classic car hire company with a choice of 80 classic cars to hire from 10 convenient UK
locations, plus sites in Italy and France. Standard self drive hire for other Great
Escape cars start at just £95/day.
